About the Midway Social Centre Society

Prior to August 2023, the Midway Senior Centre No. 117 was part of the Senior Citizens Association of British Columbia. When we first joined the Senior Citizens Association of BC, computers were not readily available, all correspondence and grant writing was done using mail and typewriters.

Fast forward to 2024. The circumstances and requirements from funding and granting bodies has changed. To keep up with the requirements and the needs of our community, we determined it was the appropriate time register as a BC Non-Profit Society.

Midway's team of unpaid volunteers (for our organization and other community groups) is the glue that holds a community together. Through volunteering we connect to our whole community and make it a better place. Our volunteers serve as fundraisers, organizing events and activities to generate support for ours and other partner non-profit organizations. Additionally, our volunteers take on the role of mentors and educators, sharing their knowledge and expertise to empower others through education and personal development.
